I don’t know how I lucked out so much when I chose Bhutan Aries for our tour guides this past summer. I had contacted a few guide companies but Devendra was so responsive and helpful there was no question that they were the right choice. My partner and I spent a week in Bhutan in the summer, and from the moment we were met by Karma and Norbu at the airport in Paro we felt like we were in great hands. Karma is a patient, knowledgeable guide with a good sense of humor and a commitment to wonderful client care. Norbu is the most amazing driver – those mountain roads can be treacherous, but we always felt safe. And Norbu is a knowledgeable guide in his own right. Their English was amazing and they were a lot of fun to spend the week with. We especially enjoyed the Bumdra Trek, but I have to say the countryside was beautiful everywhere we went, which included the Pobjikha Valley. We had the opportunity to spend the night at Choden Homestay too, a farmhouse with amazing food and a traditional hot stone bath, run by a gracious couple, Yeshey and Dechen. I would love to return, and if I did, I would only go through Bhutan Aries. I have used trekking guides a few other places (Peru, Nepal, for example), and Karma, Devendra, and Norbu are the best of all!
